This was a project I developed for my Photo class that was centered around Performance photography. The idea came to me because I sometimes feel that I am an "old fashioned" woman in today's world, well I guess compared to my friends. I spent the day in this vintage dress while my friend, Amanda, took pictures of me. She did a wonderful job capturing everything I planned out. Although it did feel weird having someone else take my pictures, that was the whole point of the performance aspect. It was a great assignment because I was able to hang the pictures in a gallery in Uptown Normal, it was so much fun sharing them and talking to everyone about the photos.

Should I?

Yes...
Dana and Patrick commissioned me take their engagement pictures. They had the cutest downtown area where we took an hour to stroll and then the town over was where Patrick worked so we took a couple hours down there. They were naturals in front of the camera...but Patrick was getting pretty antsy toward the end, but he hung in there.

Dana's father introduced her to Patrick but said he could only take her out for coffee so we decided to theme their "Save the Dates" around coffee!

I lucked out today with awesome weather to shoot an engagement session for my friend Shannon's sister Katie and her finance Jack. We had a lot of fun walking around the small town of Lexington!

Performance Photo Project

In my Advanced Topics class, we were given a Performance topic. We could either be the performer and have someone take pictures of us acting in a public space or act on the public space and take the pictures ourselves.

I love garage sales, so I decided to go in the public, ask people what item they wanted to get rid of the most was, and photographed them with it. Here's a few of them...

French Chair

Bowl

Big Painting

Santas

Playstation 3
